SmithCorp Executive Team
Dominic graduated in Bristol with a 2:1 in History and then went onto study and complete a PGCE. After teaching in secondary schools for two years in the South West, he decided to travel around the world. On returning, Dominic was introduced to the fast pace of recruitment and immediately discovered his passion for working in the industry. Joining SThree in London, Dominic proved his excellence as a recruiter, he learnt the trade and established himself as a high billing performer. With obvious leadership skills, he quickly progressed through to running a team and was responsible for setting up a new finance division.
In 2004 Dominic left to become one of the founders of jjFOX – SmithCorp’s first recruitment business. Since 2004, Dominic has successfully launched four further recruitment businesses. In 2012 he became the Group’s Chief Operations Officer, and in 2015 he stepped into the helm of the organisation as Chief Executive Officer for the SmithCorp group of companies. As CEO, Dominic’s primary focus is to continue to grow the business profitability, by creating a vibrant and progressive working environment and fostering a culture and success.
Dominic’s interests include skiing, attending concerts, gardening and spending time with his wife and two young children. When time permits, he enjoys property investment and redevelopment and travel.
Jonny started his working life in Cornwall as a Sports Development Officer for Sport England, but caught the recruitment bug after joining jjFOX in 2005 following a move to Bristol. Jonny was promoted to manager soon after and was responsible for setting up the Truro office, helping to grow the business from start-up to £8.6m turnover in its first 4 years. By 2009 Jonny was responsible for a team of 35 consultants whilst closely managing a portfolio of business with key clients.
Jonny established Edgware Associates in 2012 and very quickly grew the business to become a significant education brand within the SmithCorp group. In 2015 Jonny was promoted to Chief Operations Officer for SmithCorp, and now as the COO Jonny is responsible for the day to day operations and plays the key role in driving the performance of the business across all five of the SmithCorp recruitment brands.
Jonny is married with 2 young children and spends most of his time outside of work with his family. After growing up in Cornwall it’s no surprise that he enjoys spending time at the beach regardless of the time of year, whether it be walking the dogs, surfing or kayaking. On dry land he is normally found spending time restoring a vintage VW Splitscreen van, or playing a round of golf.
Andy joined SmithCorp in early 2015 having spent the last seven years working in fast-growing and innovative professional services businesses across the legal and healthcare sectors. Andy is a CIMA qualified accountant and brings with him a wealth of experience across all aspects of financial management, control and reporting, particularly within highly regulated environments. Andy has worked across a wide spectrum of businesses from owner-managed companies and preparing them for sale, through to shareholder-owned plcs and membership organisations.
Andy runs the entire back office team at SmithCorp, encompassing all the support functions and prides himself on delivering high standards of professionalism and customer service to the recruitment businesses, enabling them to focus on the delivery of high quality recruitment services to clients and candidates.
Outside of work Andy enjoys keeping fit by playing football, skiing, golf and taking part in the occasional triathlon. Andy is married with 3 young children and also helps to coach his son’s football team as well as being an avid Spurs fan.
After completing an engineering degree and a stint working with Rolls Royce, James took off to travel the globe for five years. Teaching to fund his travels, he lived and worked in a variety of countries. This culminated in him setting up the first private English language school with native English teachers in Almaty, Khazakstan.
Returning to the UK in 1999 in search of a new challenge, James discovered recruitment. He accepted a position with Huxley Associates in London placing IT developers and quickly moved through the ranks to head up their Thames Valley Permanent Office before leaving in 2003 to join and grow a fledgling IT recruitment business in the city.
Having kept in touch with Adam Smith (his manager and mentor from his formative years in recruitment), James rejoined him again in 2009, now as a Director at jjFOX, establishing and growing new brands Parker White Consulting and then Education StaffBank before moving into his current role as group Chief Development Officer in 2015. James plays a key role in the recruitment, development and retention of our people.
James is married with a young daughter. He still enjoys good food, wine and travel to warmer climes but these days always with his family.
