  • I joined SmithCorp with a proven background in education recruitment, but at the time, I was facing a real challenge. As a parent to a young son about to start school, I worried that the typical long hours and lack of flexibility in recruitment would force me to step away from a career I genuinely love, but SmithCorp changed that.

  • My recruitment journey started when I joined SmithCorp as a Trainee Education Recruiter, for Boston Rose, in September 2019. When I joined, I’d only just finished University and was unsure of what career path I wanted to take. I knew I wanted to commit long-term to a forward-thinking company with lots of room for my personal growth and progression. After joining SmithCorp, I quickly found my feet in my new job and a new city and worked my way up to Senior Recruiter and Manager where I continue to recruit educators across the country, whilst supporting and growing a budding team of junior recruiters.

    Since working for SmithCorp, I’ve learnt more than I thought I would, not only about education but I have also learnt a lot about myself, management, client relationships, how businesses run and make money, and how important all staff are to the running of a company.

    SmithCorp also gave me the opportunity to earn more than others my age. I am grateful to be in the top 1% for national earnings and couldn’t have done so without being employed by such a well-established recruitment company with a generous commission structure and earning potential. Since joining,  I have experienced the finest of dining, been on amazing company trips, hit incentives with my peers, earned individual and team bonuses... the list goes on.   • I joined SmithCorp as a recruitment consultant for Education Staffbank in 2022. The first 6 months were tough, but I pushed on and did well. Within 2 years of joining, I was one of a few top billers in SmithCorp, which led to my management promotion. I started recruiting consultants for my own team while continuing to run my own desk and staying on top of the billing boards.  Our office dynamic is great, and we know how to celebrate the wins.

    Recruitment is not easy, but it can be very rewarding if you can push through the tough times and make it work.

  • I joined jjFOX in March 2023 having recently relocated to Cornwall from Essex. For me, the move meant a career change at the same time which was a daunting thought. I found the team welcoming and the regular socials definitely helped me settle into a new area quickly. There was always someone on hand to provide recommendations for places to go, restaurants to eat at and more importantly… the ones to avoid!

    Having spent most of my working life in the Army or latterly in Operations Management roles, I have always been used to working hard and finding solutions to problems that aren’t always there at first. The life experience and transferable skills that I brought with me have helped me grow into my new role and deal with the many challenges that come with it. I finished my first full year as the top billing Junior Consultant across all brands and subsequently I have been promoted to Senior Consultant. Since joining the business, I have been on lunch clubs to some amazing restaurants and a trip to Ally Pally to watch the darts. If you are prepared to graft for it, the rewards are there to be had.

  • I started my degree studying Politics and International Relations with a view to pursue a career in the Civil Service. During my studies, I realised a career in the political field would have meant moving up to London, or a bigger city, and working up through the ranks eventually being rewarded after many years of service. I started applying for graduate roles in Cornwall and stumbled upon an advert for a Graduate Recruitment Consultant. I applied, interviewed, and haven’t looked back since. My first day at the office felt like Wolf of Wall Street- the culture, buzz and earing potential is built into our everyday. My first year I earned more than any of my friends in London, bought a house and I’m on track to beat records. I would highly recommend SmithCorp to any graduate who would like to get rewarded for the effort they put in and to those who thrive in a fast-paced environment.
